Watching that interview with Torress just angered me. He does not care or have any actual empathy for Palestinians and he came across at least to me that he despises those on the left that have empathy. Only 8% of Democratic voters and 47% of independents support Israel right now. Some Dems are slowly starting to fall in line and join those who've been trying to stop this. Most people don't want this to continue, most of the world doesn't want this to continue. 

People's rights are being trampled in the name of supporting Israel. Student visas are getting revoked, some universities are capitulating and passing policies forbidding pro-Palestinian activism, people are getting doxxed, and legal green card holders are having their statuses terminated. In the UK over 700 Palestine Action protesters have been arrested for "terrorism" and mind you, the racist protesters during the riots there last year weren't arrested under terror laws despite them causing actual violence and injuries. Germany, in similar fashion, has been repressing pro-Palestinian activism as well, even restricted Jewish-led groups. 

Our rights are already under attack by this administration. Israel is only fueling the fire. Israeli forces brutally beat Chris Smalls when they boarded the Handala, have murdered American citizens and journalists and an Israeli cybersecurity chief was caught soliciting a minor while visiting the US and let off and sent home scot-free. Supporting an arms embargo on Israel and cutting support is not only a winning issue, but the right thing to do.

Israel bans foreign journalists inside Gaza without military escorts, so it's hard to believe our media and journalists are truly free to roam around and investigate thoroughly.

If anything, the situation is likely worse than what media is telling us.

Imagine Ukraine said "no American journalists unless our military escort them around", all aid to Ukraine would end within minutes.

I believe that there is genuine suffering in Gaza. I don't think it is in any way Israel's fault.  If Hamas would just surrender to Israel and release the hostages, then this could all end and no more children would die. I hope that eventually Hamas will decide that it loves its women and children more than it loves fighting and killing Jews.

War is hell. Hamas is morally equivalent to the Nazis. Israel has an obligation to try to prevent civilian deaths, just as the allies had an obligation to prevent civilian deaths in Nazi Germany. This is the sort of doubling down on delusions that people do to protect their positive self-image from destruction. They cannot allow themselves to admit they're committing a genocide b/c then they'd have to admit to being amoral pieces of shit. When you're programmed from an early age to believe you're the vanguard of civilization in a region full of backward barbarians, that level of self-reflection and criticism becomes nearly impossible.

This behavior accompanies just about every mass atrocity in human history. It persists even after such atrocities are stopped and the perpetrators defeated. After Germany lost WW2, many Germans launched into all sorts of mental gymnastics to excuse, minimize, distance themselves, and distract from the atrocities committed by the nazis. From the "we didn't know" to the "just following orders" and the "it was all Hitler's fault", all the way to the "it actually wasn't so bad" and "ok, but look at what the Soviets are doing to us now!" 

When Israel's day of reckoning comes, most Israelis will be doing the same, except this time it will be even less believable since this is one of the most documented genocides in human history. Not only do we know that they know, we know how many of them were and still are celebrating it. The world should never let them forget it.

The famine has been very clearly and explicitly intentional. The intentional murdering of World Central Kitchen volunteers delivering food aide, twice. The deliberate use of food care packages as bait for murdering starving people coming to collect the food. It’s been clear for many months that this is an intentional and chosen method of genocide, to force them into famine. Was listening to Lewis Goodall on LBC today and he had the former deputy mayor of Jerusalem on and he asked her about the famine and she tried to make out it was Hamas lies.

Lewis pointed out that a lot of the information collected from the UN group looking into the claims of famine come from charities that are on the ground there and not Hamas and she told him to stop swallowing the propaganda, he laughed at her and she went to go on a tirade but got the boot lol.
